Refractory headache has been rarely reported in patients with cerebral infarction and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
The mechanisms of this headache may be caused by being increased thrombotic activity and hypercoagulability of
cerebral microvascular circulation, which related with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. Therefore, anticoagulation
would be helpful for resolving headache symptom. Here, we report a patient, who suspecting antiphospholipid antibody
syndrome, with ischemic stroke and refractory headache improved by proper oral anticoagulation.
